COMPANY BACKGROUND
JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Sales Representative will bring support to our corporate strategy of growing our Engineered Structural Mesh business in North America, with a primary focus on developing and growing sales channels from our existing North American operations.
The skill set of this resource combines both a strong and experienced engineering background with seasoned sales capability - a unique and already established individual who can ensure we can penetrate the market quickly, skillfully, and independently.
This individual's experience will be broad to ensure access, relationships, and prior success with these key stakeholders.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote concrete reinforcement solutions using welded mesh to structural design companies, engineering consultants, design/build contractors and other designers or customers to enhance product exposure.
- Represent Tree Island at relevant industry associations (e.g., WRI, CRSI, etc.) and building standard committees (e.g., ASTM) to continue promotion and acceptance of welded reinforcement products.
- Develop longterm growth plans for our Engineered Structural Mesh business segment, including detailed plans for market share growth and investment recommendations.
- Establish and execute detailed sales plans along with product, customer and channel strategies that meet or exceed Company goals for volume, margin, and market share. Monitor key account activity, while communicating critical information to the General Manager of Sales.
- Monitor and evaluate the activities, products, and market share of the competition. Constantly collect and test understanding of market pricing.
- Work with the General Manager of Sales to maintain or modify commercial policies, including price schedules, rebates, and other discounts to customers.
- Prepare budgets for selling expenses and other key SG&A components within the region, as required.
- Actively participate in forecasting of volume, price, and product mix based on customer, market, and economic conditions. Prepare periodic reports showing volume, market share, profitability, potential sales, and areas of proposed business development.
- Negotiate and close orders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering Degree, preferably in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 5+ years of prior experience in a similar role, or equivalent combination of education and Industrial experience.
- Experience setting up and managing local and regional customer accounts.
- Must be exceptionally strong with MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- A driven selfstarter with advanced problemsolving skills and strategic planning abilities.
- Handson individual who takes ownership and brings solid solutions to the table.
- Ability to build strong business relationships at the executive level of key accounts.
- This position requires regular travel within Canada and the United States. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
