Description

Eaton's Electrical sector is currently seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. This position is based at our Milton, ON facility and offers benefits from Day1.

What you'll do:


The HR Generalist position will primarily support Eaton's largest manufacturing plant in Milton, Ontario, as well as provide other functional support as needed in Canada.

The HR Generalist will coordinate and monitor the full scope of human resources activities under the direction of the Human Resources Manager(s).

Specific responsibilities include site engagement activities, payroll reporting, recruitment, employee relations, inclusion & diversity, metrics and training and development.


Essential Functions:


  • Provide HR advisement and support to the Eaton Milton CARES Committee in local events and initiatives (i.e. United Way month, appreciation events, service awards, wellness events, etc )
  • Support the HR Manager(s) with the implementation of strategic initiatives to build organizational capability by attracting, developing and retaining top talent for all jobs (manufacturing classifications).
  • Work with managers, during recruitment process, to ensure job requisitions and employee announcements are created and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Liaison between Barpellam, local agencies and hiring managers for all site contingency worker matters.
  • Manage local time and attendance program for overtime and absences via ADP system. Provide reports for Burlington Payroll on a semimonthly basis.
  • Support the HR Manager(s) with the annual performance review and merit process for manufacturing employees by communicating with key internal stakeholders, training employees and managers in Talent Hub system and developing SMART goals, and monitoring completed reviews.
  • Partner with Production Managers/Supervisors on skills matrix and cross training processes for production employees.
  • Maintain, update and deliver the site New Hire Orientation Program for both agency and fulltime employees.
  • Evaluate existing training programs and other key training initiatives and revise as necessary.
  • Support HR Manager(s) with employee investigations and provide recommendations for resolutions.
  • Monitor employee attendance and work with management to initiate counseling sessions.
  • Manage the Intern/Co-Op hiring, onboarding and ensure a positive experience.
  • Update all appropriate Human Resources files.
  • Monitor the Early Safe Return to Work process and leaves of absences with EHS Manager (when appropriate), Desjardins and Corporate HR.
  • Support local Inclusive Eaton Resource Groups (iERGs) with increasing participation through events, etc.
  • Maintain and update HRrelated bulletins and tv boards for all site employees.
  • Assist in ensuring organizational compliance with the Employment Standards Act and current HR legislation (including Human Rights, Health & Safety, Privacy, Employment Law).
  • Complete other HR and site administrative duties/projects as required.

Qualifications:


Basic Qualifications:


  • University degree or college diploma in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • CHRP or in progress.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience planning site/work events.
  • Experience promoting employee initiatives and open roles on social media.

Skills:


  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written. Ability to draft effective site communications.
  • Ability to make recommendations by using sound, independent judgment.
  • Ability to get results with a sense of urgency.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement; willingness to challenge status quo.
