JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervising security guards at the passport office.
  • Supervising and implementing all staff training.
  • Ensuring standards are maintained through regular briefings and posted updates.
  • Assisting with accidents, emergency scene management, and first aid and security assistance to staff and others as required.
  • Supervising normal and emergency activities relating to security situations.
  • Reporting and where possible, correcting any safety/security problems relating to personnel, equipment or building deficiencies affecting operations.
  • Administering accident, incident and disciplinary reports.
  • Undertaking all work shift scheduling activities for the Detachment, including time sheets and personnel administration.
  • Maintaining a record of all staff performance metrics.
  • Performing other duties.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BC Security Worker license.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada_._
  • Must be able to obtain a Reliability Clearance and be minimum 19 years of age.
  • Must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
  • Must be willing to complete the online Commissionaire Qualifying Course (CQC)
  • Must be fluent in the English language written, verbal and reading skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude with a professional demeanour, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable learning and using scheduling software (we use Tracktik).
  • Have excellent attention to detail to fulfill duties and responsibilities and incident report writing.
  • Have excellent problem solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
  • Have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
  • Have a demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public.
  • Knowledge of Post Orders, the Division's Policies and Procedures Manual and ISO documentation is essential.
  • Excellent communicator who is capable of motivating and instilling professionalism at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills that assists the entire team in understanding how services are delivered.
