We are looking for an experienced Production Line Runner, with manual dexterity and the ability to use manual tools.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Checks and counts the materials issued from the warehouse and distribute it to the workstations for production.
  • Aligning materials for the production floor to ensure that the work does not stop.
  • Ensuring to pick the completed bins from the production floor and package, label, and strap them.
  • Do the necessary system entries in Excel and/or ERP to ensure the information is captured.
  • Places materials/goods on racks, shelves, and bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, colour, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Maintaining proper records of tools handed over to the team.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves; conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Uses a computer to enter records.
  • Maintains inventory records for the production floor
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2year experience in a similar position
  • Experience in a manufacturing industry is an asset
  • Creative thinker
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective oral and written communications skills (English a MUST)
  • Basic computer skills to perform data entry is a must
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment
  • Must be meticulous with their work
  • Goaloriented to meet deadlines

Working conditions

  • Must be comfortable working in a diverse environment
  • Could be exposed to varied internal temperatures within the Plant due to external weather conditions
  • Fastpaced environment

Physical requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Requirement for strong dexterity in hands and fingers to manipulate heavy types of vinyl for upholstery and assembly

The Details

  • This is a fulltime, permanent position working from our Mississauga plant.
  • Hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm.
  • Compensation includes a competitive base and bonus, with group benefits, Group RSP matching, vacation, and plant closure between Christmas and New Year's.
