Overview:
The prime objective of the Fixed Maintenance Foreman is to oversee the completion of scheduled maintenance jobs using the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximize equipment availability and
optimize reliability. Ensures safe and healthy working conditions in operations under his/her responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Health and Safety:
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas. Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and country regulations
- Ensure that all regulatory requirements associated with the carrying out of operational duties are completed as required by the relevant regulation, certificate, or permits.
Financial Management:
- Promotes a culture of performance. Effectively develops goals and objectives to implement actions, track performance and continuously look for opportunities for improvement
- Review all weekly PM schedules and address concerns regarding fixed plant equipment.
- Conduct all related repair job costing pertaining to fixed plant equipment.
Operations Management:
- Review daily with Operations Superintendant on upcoming jobs
- Attend monthly supervisors' meetings
- Promote good relations and communication between the maintenance and production departments.
- Ensure productivity, housekeeping and quality of work standards are maintained with the maintenance department.
- Complete maintenance related jobs according to highest standards of safety, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Completion of all fixed plant work orders and tracking for pm schedules.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns to ensure prompt repairs.
People Management:
- Review daily schedules with Lead hands on all jobs.
- Hold tool box talks with department.
- Manage, assign, and review work to maintenance department employees.
- Meet with Sales vendors on fixed equipment purchases.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Review & sign off daily timecards
- Prepare Work orders for daily jobs and track, close work orders when completed.
- Prepare costing & labor hours on related jobs.
- Maintain PM tracking sheets on Fixed Equipment
- Create work orders for related jobs
- Plan & set up all annual testing for fixed equipment\
Dimentions:
Indirect Reports: 20 Unionized employees
- Reports to Operations General Foreman, Operations Superintendant
Qualifications:
_ Education:
_
- Mechanical or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic ( Millwright ) preferred
_ Experience and Skill Set:
_
- Experience with maintenance of fixed equipment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with personnel.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication, negotiation and change management skills
- Good knowledge of aggregate industry
- Ability to foster and grow a strong safety culture
- Highly motivated with ability to work under pressure
