Position Summary


The Program Manager - Primary Health has primary day-to-day management of their assigned program(s), including human resources, program management and development, financial accountability and quality and innovation.

Assigned programs include Dental, and X-ray service and liaison roles with Laboratory and Midwifery. They participate in and/or lead program, departmental and organizational initiatives, committees and/or functions.

The Program Manager - Primary Health works with Mount Carmel Clinic (MCC) management to align programs and services with client needs, integrate services within and outside MCC and encourage teamwork and collaboration across all MCC departments.


Qualifications

Education

  • Degree at the Bachelor level in a healthrelated discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and healthcare experience may be considered.
  • Registration with a Professional College or Association if applicable and as appropriate.

Management Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience, including human resources management

Program/Community Knowledge

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working effectively in a related service/program and similar population;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic financial management and program management, evaluation and development;
  • Understanding of the assets, challenges, needs and interests of MCC's clients and community

Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making, change management, problem-solving, crisis management and conflict resolution

Demonstrated ability to manage programs, projects and initiatives to effectively and efficiently achieve their goals and produce expected results/outcomes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations, and proficiency in the use of computer systems, including electronic medical records

  • Project management skills and experience
  • Management education or training, including human resources management
  • Experience preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures and preparing financial reports in accordance with the requirements of specific funders
  • Experience in a community agency
