Full-time Contract (FTE 1.0 | 37.5 hours per week)
Two year contract, renewable possible


SALARY:
$55,000 - $60,000 annually - salary will commensurate with skills and experience;

CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for an Education Coordinator.
The Education Coordinator requires strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.

Attention to detail, and an exceptional set of planning and execution skills are required to ensure the success of the entire Education Program.

The Education Coordinator must be able to work independently and exercise good judgement. As a member of the ORS the incumbent will have the opportunity to support meaningful pediatric research in a team

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Research Director of Human Resources the Education Coordinator will:

  • Maintain and update the tracking of all mandatory training, which includes but is not limited to, training in the Learning Management System as well as specific programs such as CITI, CORE and REDCap files for all paid staff and contingent workers. This includes diligent follow-up on any outstanding mandatory training requirements and escalating issues when appropriate according to standard operating procedures (SOP);
  • Create (if necessary) and administer education and training policies and procedures;
  • Organize and facilitate all education and training events such as CHEO Research Institute Orientation, CHEO Research Summer Student learning series, Summer Student Research Day, Research Rounds andResearch specific presentations at CHEO Pediatric Grand Rounds sessions, etc.;
  • Facilitate and administer the CHEO RI appointment process of Scientists, Principle Investigators and Affiliate Scientists at the CHEO RI along with their onboarding (Latte & Learn);
  • Maintain and update internal tracking of the Office of Research Services teams' professional development, including any related costs, in accordance with institutional policies;
  • Update access to the CHEO Research Manager's portal and ensure reports are functioning;
  • Assist the Health & Safety team with tracking of their mandatory education and training program and escalate as appropriate;
  • Provide administrative support to the continued development and implementation of the Research Education Program in accordance with the program guide and work plan, which is tied to the strategic plan;
  • Provide administrative and logistics support for education programs including: booking meetings, taking attendance, reserving office location (for onsite training), visual and audio needs etc.;
  • Liaise with OD&L at CHEO and facilitate communication with RI on topics and sessions of interests;
  • Work closely with the Human Resources Team to ensure timely education and training sessions as well as provide support to our contingent workforce.
  • Supports the Director of Human Resources on additional initiatives within the Human Resources portfolio as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Three (3) years of experience managing or leading an internal education program;
  • Two (2) years of customer service experience (internal & external facing); o Be comfortable and confident in public speaking, with good annunciation and pronunciation;
  • Experience in designing evaluation forms and assessment tools;
  • Experience with data collection, data management, and database maintenance;
  • Excellent organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening),
  • A high level of judgment, tact, and diplomacy in interacting with people from across and outside the organization;
  • Team player who can also take initiative and work independently;
  • Ability to set priorities with competing and shifting demands.

  • Experience working in a graduate, healthcare or health research environment
  • Bilingualism (French and English)
