The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice.

The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities.

Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.


About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Manager of Simulation Learning, Interprofessional Practice & Learning (IPP&L), Western zone, the Secretary II supports the Simulation Learning team by performing a wide variety of administrative, secretarial, and coordination duties.

Such duties may include, but are not limited to:


  • Reception.
  • Scheduling of meetings, appointments, and room bookings.
  • Preparing reports and correspondence.
  • Coordination of time entry for payroll.
  • Managing supplies including ordering equipment.
  • Provision of support for select committees or quality teams.
  • Circulation of departmental notifications.
This position requires liaising internally with health disciplines of all departments and externally with academic partners.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 plus graduate of a recognized office administration/business/secretarial program or an equivalent combination of education, training and progressively responsible experience required
  • Two years recent and related experience required
  • Medical terminology is an asset
  • Proficiency with word processing and formatting, electronic file management, and data entry
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and database management
  • Welldeveloped verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Strong organizational, time management and planning/prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite, internet browsers, and Learning Management Systems
  • Skills and experience in promoting learning cultures that nurture equity, diversity and inclusivity with a focus on intersectional values, analysis, and actions, clinical humility, and the responsible use of power and privilege.
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

    Salary Information:
$ $22.50 hourly
$36,857 - $40,953 annually
