Savoury Chef is an award winning Vancouver based catering company. We are currently looking for a talented and passionate leader to guide our events team.
The Event Operations Manager is a member of our leadership team and plays a pivotal role in the success of the company.
Through thorough planning and organizing, the Event Operation Manager will ensure successful communication with our sales team and seamless execution of events.
While the Event Ops Manager is not required to be on site for every event, they do directly instruct, brief and lead our onsite Event Managers ensuring that each event is smooth for our clients and event staff.

Responsibilities:
- Overseeing, leading and mentoring the events team of Event Managers, Servers and Bartenders.
- Working alongside our sales team to ensure thorough planning of events.
- Recruiting, scheduling, hiring and coordinating training for all FOH staff.
- Managing service standards and championing product innovation.
- Leading and engaging a team of 40+ event staff.
- Overseeing operations of contracted client café.
- Coordinating the planning and execution of events with the sales and kitchen teams.
- Managing payroll and labour costs of your team.
- Maintaining clear communication between Savoury Chef Shareholders, direct reports, venue contacts, and the Savoury Chef Kitchen and Logistics.
- Representing Savoury Chef and being the key point of contact for clients when on site at events.
- The work time will be divided between the Savoury Chef office and off site events. Some remote working days also possible.
- Events/banquet operations experience.
- Experience with the logístical planning of events (rentals, setup, execution)
- Familiar with off site events operations
- Excellent people skills, incredible attention to detail, administrative accuracy, and the ability to problem solve while working under tight deadlines and pressure
- Excellent communication skills, an open mind and a positive attitude
- Experienced in interviewing, onboarding, supporting and disciplining staff
- Comfortable navigating various computer systems and platforms (Touch Bistro, Total Party Planner, Google Suite)
- Hospitality experience
- FOH management experience
- Serving It Right certificate and valid drivers license required
- Must be fully vaccinated for Covid 19
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Shifts:
Mainly Monday-Friday daytime shifts, with some evenings and weekends as required.
