Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs).

Responsibilities:


  • Providing direction, leadership and supervision in all aspects of the managing the day to day operation including operations and maintenance, and ensuring company standards, policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with the corporate Operating Management System (OMS);
  • Motivating, managing and leading a diverse multidiscipline team by communicating common goals, strategies and results of the business unit;
  • Managing and monitoring operating/capital budget/expenses and forecasted data on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
  • Acting as Emergency Response Plan Coordinator for the sites ensuring response plans and team capabilities are in place and current; assuming the role of Incident Commander in the event of an incident;
  • Ensuring safe, effective and efficient performance of maintenance and pipeline/terminal operation activities accordance with company standards;
  • Balancing business development, operational management and project management (construction/engineering) activities in the facilities;
  • Supporting policy and procedure development, implementation and enforcement; and
  • Ensure all environmental regulations and safety compliance standards are applied.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholder groups

Qualifications:


  • Excellent interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong operational understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance for pipeline and piping components as well as repair and maintenance of those components;
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a multitude of priorities and direct staff in a fast paced and changing environment;
  • Emergency response leadership training and experience;
  • Well developed planning, organizational, and project management skills;
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly MS Excel;
  • Permanent residency within 100 KM of Drayton Valley is a condition of employment;
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy including preemployment D&A testing
