DESCRIPTION
Working closely with Management, the Field Safety Representative provides professional health and safety expertise and guidance to operations. The Field Safety Representative has strong planning, organizational, and communication skills and is comfortable working in a team environment.

Responsibilities include continuous promotion of Canadian Plains health and safety program and assisting workers, supervision, and management in hazard assessment and assessing compliance to applicable legislation.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development, communication and training of safe job procedures, safe work practices, and codes of practice.
  • Review & assess staff, ISP's and subcontractors for compliance to Health & Safety Management Systems, OHS Regulations/Code.
  • Assist with the execution of the Subcontractor Management Program.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring to site leadership and personnel.
  • Complete HSE site reporting for the project.
  • Work with leadership to coordinate activities such as Project Risk Assessments, Pre-Job Meetings, ERP drills, site visits/inspections and other daily HSE matters.
  • Complete site inspections.
  • Complete Crew observations.
  • Complete HIAC Assessments, Assist and advise on hazard identification, assessment, and control (HIAC).
  • Training and feedback on Risk and Hazard Management Program with all staff.
  • Assist in the review, analyze/trend, and follow up on safety observation cards (SOC) on a regular basis.
  • Assist in preparation and contribute to regular safety meetings.
  • Assist leaders to address and monitor near misses corresponding with severity.
  • Complete site incident investigation.
  • Assist with site orientation.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of project ERP, PJHA.
  • Assist with claims management.
  • Support the implementation and execution of the Alcohol & Drug policy and program.
  • Assist in coordination of training.
  • Assist in the maintenance of material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Assist in procurement, monitor and inventory PPE and safety supplies.
  • Coordinate and oversee safety equipment and PPE inspection and maintenance program.
  • Assist in the preparation of prejob meetings and attend when required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • NCSO Certified
  • CRSP would be an asset
  • Incident Investigation training would be an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of oilfield construction experience
  • Pipeline experience required
  • Class 5 drivers license
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Ability to pass a Alcohol & Drug preemployment test
