Reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer, this position will be responsible for conducting surveys in the mine as well as subsidence, product inventory and special surveys as required.
What you will do:
- Survey using a total station to establish points for mine layouts and special projects
- Generate maps and CAD drawings
- Monitor mine gases with ventilation equipment and preform ventilation surveys
- Layout beltlines and infrastructure underground
- Collect elevation surveys
- Maintain and repair survey and laser equipment
- Work in a safety sensitive environment
What you will bring:
- A Mining, Geomatics or Civil Engineering Technology diploma from a recognized technological institution or applicable practical experience
- Surveying experience would be an asset
- Experience working in an underground environment will be considered an asset
- Experience working with MS office, SAP, AutoCAD and mine design/planning software is desired
- Able to work in a team environment with mínimal supervision
- Basic knowledge of survey calculation software such as TDS Cogo is an asset
- A strong commitment to safety with working knowledge of OH&S, Mine and Environmental regulations
- Ability to handle a large and varied workload.
