NATURE OF WORK

  • Under the authority of the Director of Information Systems and Technology, the Associate Director, IT Solutions works with all areas of the College to identify needs and propose IT solutions, with an emphasis on processes related to student information. S/he manages hardware, software and human resources necessary to carry out the analysis, design, implementation and deployment of the solutions.


  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet stakeholders to understand their needs and propose solutions in accordance to the College directions and requirements.
  • Manage a team of five analysts and six technicians to conceive and deploy solutions and provide thirdlevel support to these solutions.
  • Provide assistance to processes related to developed solutions, and ensure their execution is within the agreed calendar of operations
  • Oversee, or if needed, directly manage projects and ensure their timely delivery
  • Oversee, or if needed, carry out, the design of solutions with the most effective mix of hardware, thirdparty solutions and inhouse development
  • Ensure the availability of solutions and their integration with other systems
  • Ensure proper documentation and training for the new solutions are provided
  • Ensure the Enterprise Resource Planning software, including the student information system, work properly and meet evolving users' needs
  • Act as the liaison and coordinate requests to thirdparty suppliers
  • Respond and prioritize requests for bugs and new features, directly with stakeholders, or through collaboration with the support team
  • Advise the Director of Information Systems on the acquisition or upgrade of resources within his/her area of responsibility, and on the impact of solutions on infrastructure and existing systems
  • Actively participate in the establishment of IST priorities and planning
  • Work in close cooperation with the Associate Director, IT Operations in order to ensure efficient overall IT operations
  • Act as a designated Coordonnateur organisationnel des mesures de sécurité de l'information (COMSI) to the Ministry of Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation (MCN)
  • Perform other duties as required by the Director of Information Systems and Technology

Requirements:


  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • An undergraduate degree in an appropriate specialization and six (6) years relevant experience.


  • CONDITIONS

  • Advanced level of communication in both English and French
  • Relevant experience should include developing, implementing and operating computer systems
  • Must possess proven human relations and mentoring skills including those necessary for team management
- as per the «Règlement déterminant certaines conditions de travail des cadres des collèges d'enseignement général et professionnel». In addition, there is recognition of Master's and Doctoral degrees for salary purposes.
