Job Summary

  • The Faculty of Open Learning and Career Development (OLCD) develops and delivers innovative and diverse lifelong learning experiences for more than 5000 students annually to help them navigate the changing world of learning and work. Reporting to the Director, Professional Certificates, Career Essentials and Accreditation, the Program Manager will support the portfolio of programs and offerings, effectively and efficiently managing and administering courses and certificates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice to current and prospective students regarding suitability and availability of courses and certificates based on career and educational goals. Assist students with course selection and notify of upcoming courses in their certificate program.
  • Prepare instructor contracts and confirm in writing contractual arrangements with instructors. Onboard new instructors. Provide advice to Director and Associate Director on instructor staffing requirements. Help instructors troubleshoot course and student issues. Provide basic technical/access support for instructors and students.
  • Ensure students have a consistent positive user experience. Ensure access to course platforms and appropriate student services. Advise of cancellations or schedule changes, making alternative arrangements as required. Liaise with Student Services for refunds of registration fees as required.
  • Monitor course finances as well as registrations weekly to identify if registrations meet breakeven. Approve instructor invoices and submit for payment. Complete breakdown of instructor invoices for revenuesharing arrangements.
  • Copy over courses for each iteration, ensuring dates, assessments, and other components are properly updated. Liaise with Program Team, instructor, and ID to ensure course content accuracy.

Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field such as social sciences, humanities, education, business or computer science, plus approximately three years progressive relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Demonstrated planning, organizing, project management and supervising skills.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multifunctional team.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail, time management and problemsolving.
  • Experience with MSOffice (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in learning management, information and financial systems (including budget preparation and administration) with the ability to learn new programs.
