- Ensure the Manitoba Operations has an established process to notify the various compensation boards across Canada of events within the legislated guidelines.
- Provide guidance and information as required to operating areas, Workers Safety, and Insurance Board (WSIB), first aid and safety personnel in accident reporting.
- Represent, participate, and lead complex Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal Board (WSIAB) and Canadian Compensation Board Claims and ensure the appropriate resources are assembled to present the company's case.
- Maintain various databases related to claims administration.
- Support Vale's Short-term Disability, Long term Disability, Return to Work and Alcohol Drug Instruction Programs
- Review and approve invoices.
- Assemble and communicate reports related to claims administration.
- Community college graduate in Human Resource Management or other relevant discipline or equivalent post-secondary education.
- Minimum 1 year processing WSIB claims or two or more years of experience in Human Resource related activities.
- Experience with SAP is an asset.
- Knowledge of WSIB legislation, policies, and obligations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
