Construction Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising onsite construction including, but not limited to scheduling subcontractors, inspectors and suppliers, managing daytoday operations on the job site, inspecting all work, and resolving any problems that might arise.
- Manage the construction of assigned homes from the foundation phase to finish, including warranty.
- Ensure that homes are built to requirements and specifications established by construction drawings, building codes, unit finish specs and Amara's standards.
- Oversee and monitor all daily subtrade functions: timeliness, quality of workmanship and completion of work according to project schedule.
- Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control. Achieves construction quality standards by conducting daily inspections and taking proactive and corrective action as required.
- Assist in ordering all materials required to construct houses. Manage materials on site to reduce waste and damage.
- Ensure overall appearance and livability of our communities is maintained while under construction.
- Ensure all work is being done in a safe manner and enforce safety standards and laws within the scope of authority. Ensure homes are as clean and aesthetically appealing as possible while under construction.
- Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists.
- Assist in completing deficiencies during construction, including but not limited to trim work, painting, drywall and framing.
- Any handson work as required to achieve responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a supervisory role of similar projects from beginning to completion.
- Good knowledge and clear understanding of plans, specifications, construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Intensely focused on delivering a quality product takes pride in building a zerodefect home.
- Knowledge of building code and health & safety regulations considered an asset.
- Time management, multitasking and organizational skills are key.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, both oral and written
- Handson construction skills is an asset including but not limited to carpentry, drywall, painting & flooring.
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
