This posting is to establish an eligibility list for future permanent and/or temporary vacancies. Currently we have a temporary appointment available until April 1, 2025, that may be extended or become permanent.


Natural Resource Information & Digital Services (NRIDS) is the information management/information technology (IM/IT) service provider and organizational partner to the Natural Resource Ministries (NRM).

As the centralized authority for all information, geospatial data, and technology across the NRM, NRIDS is leading the transformation and modernization of business practices through new and innovative technology solutions, continuous improvement projects and operational IM/IT solutions.


Reporting to the Unit Head of the Terrestrial Ecosystem Information unit, the Provincial Terrain Information Specialist provides senior geomorphological professional advisory services, leading the collection, management, interpretation, and use of terrain and soils-related information in support of natural resource decision-making.

Qualifications for this role include:


  • Master's degree, specializing in a natural resource management or a related field (e.g. Forestry, Ecology, Geography, etc.)
with at least one (1) year of experience in each of the related experience bullets listed;
or:


  • Bachelor's Degree, specializing in a natural resource management or a related field (e.g. Forestry, Ecology, Geography, etc.)
with at least three (3) years' of experience in each of the related experience bullets listed;
or:


  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered; and
  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a fully licensed professional with the British Columbia professional association as required by the specialty area (i.e. Association of Forest Professionals, Institute of Agrologists).
