The HR Specialist opening is located at 1970 Merivale Road, Nepean, Ontario with Leisure Days RV Group corporate office.


Overview

  • Supports the HR team and regional offices of a fastpaced growing organization by providing information to employees regarding policies and regulations; addressing a variety of less complex issues.
  • Provides general support; maintaining records, files and databases of personnel actions and evaluations, job posting, writing new job description, prescreening, scheduling interviews, onboarding, tracking new hires, promoting the new referral program, ensuring all documentation is in place.
  • Enforces corporate HR policies and practices, maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable requirements, and assists the HR team with other projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the HR team with new employees' orientation and onboarding and maintains all HR files within the HRIS and helps with its implementation across the board, and HR policies, benefits administration, and liaising with payroll for any related inquiries, onboarding and offboarding requirements.
  • Shows initiative by bringing forth new ideas and staying current on new programs for health & wellness, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Facilitates proper employee documentation and records in the new HRIS (implementation in progress), and compiling HR metrics reports as needed.
  • Assists the HR Team develops, implements, reinforces, and modifies HR policies, programs, and procedures as required by new business trends, and internal HR audits on corporate HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices and recommends improvements.
  • Provides advice and assistance to employees and branch managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures, conducts exit interviews, and prepares employment agreements and job descriptions, and coordinates onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Responsible for all recruitment related processes, HR workflows, administration of job postings and any related external advertising; weekly HR reporting; and preparation of new hire HR form packages and complete onboarding processes to ensure proper employee set up.
  • Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in a timely fashion
  • Input personnel/position changes and other information (e.g., salaries, locations, authorized access, etc.) into computerized databases
  • Provides information to employees on HR functions, activities, and services, background checks are carried out as part of any conditional offer made education, professional registration, employment, references, Canadian status verifications, and passport verifications.
  • Facilitates onboarding and offboarding, including logistics with IT and regional controllers.
  • Supports the HR team with implementing talent management programs, performance management, succession planning, rewards and recognition, other HR special projects. assigned, and implementation of the corporate's HR programs, including providing coaching and guidance to managers, running performance management sessions.

Professional Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 4 years experience in HR with exposure to multiple HR functions is a definite asset and highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of relevant Employment Standards Act provisions especially Ontario and Maritimes
  • Engaging employees from onboarding to offboarding is going to be capitalized on
  • Managing employee files, with an amazing attention to detail drafting various letters including promotion, employment agreement changes, transfer and memos by maintaining a high level of confidentiality, amazing attention to detail highly considered.
  • Experience with developing policies & procedures, and benefits administration
  • Proven experience with online recruitment and creative talent acquisition strategies combined with stellar written communication skills, to write job descriptions, debriefs and HR reports.
  • Ability of proofreading and exposure to transactional and transformational side of the HR functions is a definite asset.
  • Ability to develop and maintain multiple stakeholder relationships across multiple locations, and research HR best practices, develop new processes and effectively implement them is expected
  • Strong organizational, evaluation, and negotiation skills combined along with high attention to detail required to be successful in this role.
