Job Requirements

• Essential Functions_

Environmental and Health & Safety (H&S)

• Strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
• Provides a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.

Operational Performance & Best Business Practices

• Receive, sort, and organize different types of nonferrous metals.
• Classify the nonferrous and establish the type of material.
• Properly weigh and track the material.
• Do general maintenance of the premises.
• Ensure the equipment is in good condition.
• Data entry into the inhouse receiving software.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment using the maintenance software.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Preparing shipments and receiving equipment using forklift as required.
• Work with a safetyoriented mindset.

• Equipment and Maintenance_

• Perform daily maintenance on forklift and shears, if in use.
• Report all defects and damages to equipment to the appropriate supervisor.
• Interpersonal Contacts_

Direct contact with customers, teammates, Operations Manager, Dispatcher, Office, and Drivers.
Job Conditions

Ability to:

stand and walk frequently on uneven ground and throughout the yard; lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently; push and pull occasionally when moving materials; crouch or bend at the knees consistently to move or access materials or equipment; stoop or bend at the waist consistently to move materials; reach at arms length and overhead frequently; twist and turn at the neck and trunk continually; climb occasionally when obtaining items; manual dexterity required to handle, grasp, and manipulate controls and equipment constantly; arm-hand steadiness required constantly for precision work; communicate by speech and hearing continually.

Mental dexterity needed as the worker will work independently while demonstrating attention to detail and continuous awareness.


Qualifications

• Experience in operating a forklift.
• Experience in metal recycling.
• Experience with computer software and Microsoft office suite.
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Customer service experience in a retail preferred.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Excellent attendance and safety record.
