Our services include the underwriting and distribution of new debt and equity issues, providing advice on strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and executing daily trading and investment needs.


The Lead Operations Officer is part of a team of 18 reporting to the Manager of the SBLC and Guarantee team.

Individual will be responsible for managing the transactions for Standby Letters of Credit/Guarantees.

  • Understand the clients' business structure and what involves their operational needs as well as the processes and administrative procedures
  • Reviewing text of guarantees requested by clients and providing comments either directly to clients or relationship managers
  • Drafting, issuing, advising and amending different types of guarantees and processing any other requests or correspondence regarding the guarantees issued or advised.
  • Adhering to AML Enhanced Due Diligence and Anti-Boycott Procedures, internal policies and regulatory guidelines
  • Proactively working with others to fulfill different processing requirements in order to ensure processing requests in a timely manner
  • Prioritizing work in accordance with the service delivery standards
  • Verifying, releasing and signing SBLC & Guarantees within delegated limits
  • Acting as a point of contact to both review transaction details and resolve for hurdles for internal partners, relationship managers and clients
  • Recommending and implementing solutions within own area of responsibility
  • Identifying potential risks including processing gaps and recommending resolutions
  • Identifying and providing recommendations to eliminate process redundancy and enhance efficiency.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, International Business or other related discipline an asset
  • CDCS accreditation an asset
  • Familiar with the related ICC practices and rules (ISP 98, UCP 600, URDG 758)
- complete understanding of trade finance business including operating environment, business processes and transaction lifecycle

  • Proven skills in providing excellent customer service and managing client relationships
  • Requires to be available during some Canadian Statutory Holidays on rotational basis in order to cover our multiple province holidays, US & UK business
  • This position requires minimum of 18 months commitment to the role
  • Hybrid role currently minimum 2 days per week in the office
