Job Synopsis
- This position gives national leadership to the SOOP and Summerbridge programs in Canada.
The assignment requires approximately 2.5 days per week, with accountability being to the MCC Global Service Learning (GSL) Director, based in Akron, PA.

Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to the philosophy of shortterm service/learning programs
- Experience with public speaking and/or facilitating conferences and seminars
- Ability to authentically represent the beliefs and values of Mennonite Central Committee while relating to participants, constituents, and partners
- Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to antioppression principles
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Previous experience working with MCC programs
- Familiarity and previous engagement with Anabaptist churches
Key Responsibilties

Tasks:
- Ensure that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is exemplified in the performance of all job responsibilities and through personal example
- Model nonviolent peacemaking through daily interactions with staff and the public
- Participate in a local church and gatherings, being willing to use their gifts within the local faith community
- Receive volunteer evaluations of their service experiences and provide feedback to provincial/regional MCCs, host congregations and MMN, as required
- Together with the provincial MCC offices, identify new work locations within Canada
- As necessary, assist provincial and regional MCC staff in identifying and organizing congregations to host volunteers
- Work together with MMN in the continued development of the program. Learning tour of SOOP sites
- Respond to special requests that come to the SOOP program via the volunteers, provincial offices, or agencies
- Give national leadership to the Summerbridge program by coordinating the Summer Service Network, representing MCCC, its mission and beliefs to Summerbridge participants
- Assist provincial and regional MCC staff in identifying contact people for the SOOP program within the province/region for the purpose of promotion of and recruitment for the program
- Ongoing promotion and information resourcing about the program
- Respond to invitations for speaking engagements or workshops and look for other ways to promote SOOP and other MCC shortterm programs (eg: meet with conference staff, pastors' groups, seniors' groups, etc.)
- Participate in regular staff meetings, spending time in devotions and prayer with all in attendance
- Lead and organize an annual Summerbridge conference for participants with assistance from the GSL Administrative Assistant

Interacts with various levels of personnel (applicants, provincial staff, partners, etc.). Requires good verbal and writing skills, good relational skills. Requires a high level of enthusiasm needed to promote programs. Ability to facilitate and lead the annual Summerbridge Conference, including seminars and presentations.

This position requires a self-motivated individual, able to prioritize and take initiative independently, as well as work within a team.

This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The incumbent will be required to share information and promote both the SOOP and Summerbridge programs with applicants, provincial staff, partners and constituents.

Base salary:
