Assistant Program Supervisor

Purpose
The Assistant Program Supervisor (APS) reports to the Program Manager (PM).

As an APS you will provide leadership and support to Team Leads (TL) and other frontline employees in the day-to-day operations, including on-site mentoring and administrative support.

By providing essential mentorship, the APS acts with integrity, is open to growth, lives our purpose, cultivates teamwork, and puts forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.

Key Functions

  • Provide administrative and program support as directed by the PS
  • Oversee achievement of program outcomes, risk management and respite guidelines
  • Foster genuine relationships promoting dignity, personal interests, and identities
  • Empower people with diverse abilities to create meaningful days and achieve their goals
  • Communicate effectively with team members, individuals, and families
  • Maintain timely, accurate documents in accordance with AdaptAbilities' policies and procedures

Qualifications:


  • Minimum education requirement of High School Diploma with a minimum of 68 years of related experience; a diploma or certificate in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 35 years of related experience; or a University Degree in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 23 years of related experience.
  • Minimum 2 year of supervisory experience working with individuals with complex behaviors
  • Alignment with AdaptAbilities' core purpose and core values
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm in emotionally challenging situations and effectively use empathy
  • Strong organizational skills and problemsolving abilities
  • Flexible, comfortable working independently and collaborating as part of a team
  • Clean class 5 driver's license and vehicle is required
  • Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
  • Standard First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol are an asset
  • Perform other jobrelated activities as required
Working Conditions
This is a temporary full-time position from May 29, 2023 to September 1, 2023. Shifts are scheduled between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm from Monday to Friday.

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant from the Government of Canada, which requires that the employee must be between 15 and 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada.

International students are not eligible.


Compensation:
$27.02 to $28.61 per hour depending on experience and education
