Job Summary:


The Manager, Project Advisory Services (PAS) & Business Process Renewal (BPR) is responsible for the development and delivery of innovative process solutions in order to meet the current and future needs of the WCB.

The incumbent provides leadership and guidance to unit staff and is responsible for all management functions of the unit.


Job Duties:


Leads, participates, and supports WCB strategic projects and initiatives; develops project management and BPR standards for the WCB; ensures proper project management and business process modelling methodologies are adhered to within the organization.


Manages staff issues and provides leadership, guidance, support and direction to BPR and PAS staff including: hiring staff; conducting performance reviews and follow-up, identifying training and development needs; coaching and motivating staff; coordinating work activities, managing staff issues and deciding on disciplinary action up to and including dismissal where necessary.

Responsible for the proper use and safe-guarding of confidential labour relations information relating to the unit.


Plans, designs and implements corporate BPR projects including: business process improvement, organization design reviews, and business process modelling, etc; liaises with stakeholders to understand requirements; leads sessions with stakeholder groups to gather information and generate new ideas and coordinates the allocation of staff to support organizational initiatives.

Assists with implementing and maintaining Innovation initiatives.

Develops and delivers training/presentations and information sessions as required.

Leads project specific organizational change management and communication activities.

Develops, monitors, and manages the annual departmental budgets.

Participates in and contributes to the collective bargaining process, including participation in the formulation of labour relations strategy.

Pursues professional and personal development through continuing education and training, literature reviews, and developing external/community contacts and networks.

Participates as a member on various committees.

Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

University degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business or a related discipline

Project Management Professional (PMP) designation

Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in business process reengineering or business analysis including experience supervising technical staff and project teams

Knowledge of business analysis principles including business process reengineering

Knowledge of management principles and practices

Knowledge of change management methodology and project management principles

Advanced proficiency with a personal computer and software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Visio, and Microsoft Project)

Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with leadership and staff

Ability to lead, manage and motivate staff

Ability to obtain, assess and evaluate data to support decisions

Ability to generate innovative solutions to work situations

Ability to adapt to and lead organizational change

Ability to develop and deliver presentations and training

Ability to develop and manage budgets

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple demands and projects across organizational divisions

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of WCB policies, procedures and operating systems would be an asset

Ability to communicate proficiently in both official languages (English & French) is an asset, but is not required
