Shipping and Receiving
Reports to:
Operations Manager
Job Purpose Summary:
Responsible for the flow of materials and external services to meet production demands and on time customer delivery
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Review customer releases and create a daily Shipping schedule in Plex ERP system
- Review the Shipping schedule, pick and review the order from Inventory to ensure stock rotation and FIFO
- Prepares shipments based on customer releases and pick lists and arrange logistics as needed
- Prepares products for subcontracting and coordinate with suppliers for on time delivery
- Prepares bills of lading, pack lists against customer releases or picklists
- Checks items to be shipped against bills of lading to ascertain that quantities and destination is correct and that items are securely packed
- Receives and unloads incoming materials, process parts and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment and enter receipt in Plex ERP system
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
- Processes supplier returns and return shipments from customers
- Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items to enter the receipt in Plex ERP system
- Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents
- Maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments and forward the documentation to accounting for further processing
- Comply with the Company's 5S procedures by contributing to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, cost reduction, safety and housekeeping
- Adhere to all policies, procedures and processes established for the Company's Shipping and Receiving department
- Responsibilities as outlined in Accurate's Quality Management System per SOP40003, Core Training Matrix (roles and responsibilities to satisfy IATF 16949)
- Assume other responsibilities and tasks as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the Company
Expectations:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- A minimum of two years' experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment required
- Knowledge of commercial shipping methods and procedures
- Intermediate understanding of English language (oral and written)
- Intermediate Computer skills
- Must be physically capable of performing work required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to learn on the job, flexible with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fastpaced environment with frequently changing dynamics
- Must possess a valid Driver's license
