We develop software to address challenging requirements faced by medium to large retail enterprises such as merchandise management, master data, inventory management, sales audit, purchasing and invoicing, retail analytics, and point of sale.


Position Overview:


Mi9 Retail is seeking a Technical Writer who will be responsible for the end-to-end creation, development, planning, writing, and editing of software documentation.

You will create internal and customer-facing documentation including configuration and user guides, help systems, reference material, training content, and release notes.


What you'll be doing

  • Documenting enterprise software and pointofsale systems for a customer base of large and midsize retail firms
  • Proactively interfacing and doing research with teams that include product managers, software developers, and professional services consultants to gain knowledge about the products
  • Authoring highquality online help topics, release notes, documents, and knowledge base articles to be published in multiple targets from HTML5 to PDF.
  • Becoming an expert in our Flare publishing software

What you will bring to the table

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong desire to learn about our products and a desire and willingness to ask questions
  • Solid ability to form productive working relationships with technical, authoring, and management personnel in a remote working environment
  • Knowledgeable about mínimalist and taskbased writing
  • Experience using technical publishing software such as Madcap Flare or other publishing tools. Selfstarter with good organizational skills
  • Passion for customerfocused documentation
  • Experience with issuetracking software like JIRA is a plus
  • At least four years of experience as a technical writer
  • A technical writing certificate or a university degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Computer Science, or other relevant education and experience
