The Forklift Operator/Warehouse Associate (known internally as an Operations Associate II) will have their time split between driving a Forklift to load/offload/move product and performing a variety of warehouse duties such as picking, packing, auditing inventory and replenishment.
Education, Skills and Competencies Required:
- Secondary School Graduate Diploma required
- 2+ years Warehouse experience
- 2+ years running production machinery, knowledge of conveyer system
- 2+ years experience using performing cardboard
- Good understanding of die cutting and stripping processes
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of warehouse management systems
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Qualified to operate material handling equipment
- Good mechanical troubleshooting, aptitude and ability
- Good data entry, measurement, inventory and math skills
- Good organizational, problem solving, root cause analysis and attention to detail skills
- Sensor knowledge
- Demonstrates an ability to be selfmotivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness
- Physical ability to lift, bend and pull equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to work in a flexible team environment, with little supervision
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, perform a variety of distribution duties that may include but not limited to picking, packing, pulling/checking customer orders, auditing, wrapping and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, prepare special shipment, offloading inbound trucks, put away of inbound product, replenishment & dock function
- Utilize automated warehouse management systems (i.e. ILS, Swanleap)
- Maintain an efficiency of 84% in all functions
- Report and record discrepancies to originating departments
- Operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate efficient inbound/outbound flow of inventory, such as pallet trucks, walkies, forklifts, reach trucks, RF units, and other devices
- Verify that inbound inventory/materials delivered are in good condition and specifically as ordered
- Identify items and quantity for each load before movement to location or destination
- Move, count, sort, stack, arrange and verify inventory that would be put away in designated locations
- Detect and report to immediate Supervisor/Quality Manager any damaged goods, shortages, unidentified materials and other unusual conditions
- Assist with inspect and maintain Material Handling equipment, in accordance with Avery/OHSA safety regulations
- Exhibit diligent practices in workmanship standards and work in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures
- Participates in Physical Inventory as required
- Consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self, coworkers, and manufacturing systems
- Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal incorporating 5S standards within the operations and other areas as required
