JOB SUMMARY

Niagara Region has a Temporary, Technical Writer Student/Intern position for 35 hours per week available within the IT Solutions Division for the fall 2023 term.


EDUCATION

  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalency (ex. GED), plus
  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated a three (3) year College Diploma / University degree in a Computer Science/Information Technology/Telecommunications/Security/Technical Writing related field of study

KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience in supporting IT technology
  • Edit technical content to update it with current best practices and solutions
  • Following and tracking through the approval process
  • Knowledge of AODA standards is plus

SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient with online knowledgebases (Confluence and BMC Remedy are an asset)
  • Ability to work independently and in a group environment
  • Ability to reliably meet deadlines and project objectives
  • Convert complex technical information into meaningful instructions for the end user

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available to work fulltime from September 5, December 22, 202
  • Must provide proof of successful completion of high school
  • Must provide proof of enrollment in a related postsecondary program, or recent graduation within the past 12months
  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate
