The Environmental Protection Division works to protect the human and environmental health of the province


The division:

develops and coordinates provincial action to prevent, reduce and remove contaminating toxins and waste; develops and enforces science-based policies, laws and environmental agreements for industrial and community developments; and works closely with local communities, industry, environmental stakeholders and Indigenous Peoples to develop and enhance environmental stewardship activities throughout the Province.


The Administrative Assistant will provide a variety of office administrative, secretarial and financial support services for the branch and coordinate the day to day priorities of the manager, including providing liaison with ministry executive offices.


Job Requirements:


  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year of administrative, and/or clerical, and/or secretarial experience working in an office setting.
This includes a minimum of 1 year of experience in:


  • Minimum of 1 (one) year experience with managing electronic calendars including scheduling meetings and appointments for individuals and large groups.
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year experience typing, formatting, and proofreading a variety of documents and materials using desktop tools such as Word, Excel and the Internet.
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year experience processing purchases and/or credit card and/or petty cash reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Completion of a postsecondary office administration certificate or program.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook.
  • Minimum of 6 months of administrative and/or clerical, and/or secretarial experience in a provincial government office setting.
  • Experience using and maintaining information in the CLIFF correspondence tracking system.
  • Experience working with records classification systems (ARCS/ORCS) and eApprovals.
