We are looking for a HydroVac Operator. Applicants must provide an up-to-date resume and be prepared to supply job references upon interview.
The HydroVac Operator will be responsible for daylighting utilities to support the operation of directional drill, plow and civil construction crews to safely and accurately complete underground utility installations.
What you will do
- Work under the direction of site supervisor and/or foreman
- Assist in the daily preparation and planning of required work activities
- Perform daily vehicle inspection and maintenance at start of shift
- Visit water station each morning to fill truck
- Ensure safety and traffic control work zones are in place before commencing daylighting work
- Daylight utilities to required size and depth at identified spray paint markings by site supervisor or drill/plow crew lead
- Perform nightly dumps and cleanout of tank containing excavated soil / water and winterize vehicle as required
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations including the wearing of personal protective equipment.
- Document and report accurate locations of all completed daylighting work for daily production
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a hydrovac driver and operator
- Commercial Vehicle Driving Record (CVDR)
- AZ (preferred) or AZR driver's license with clean drivers' abstract
- Letter of experience or equivalent for operation of heavy vehicles
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- Strong work ethic to and integrity is a mandatory expectation of this role
- Strong interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with team members and construction crews to maintain a positive working environment for all.
- Must be comfortable to work in various weather conditions
- Willingness to travel to different job sites as required
