dual role of Confined Space Rescue Technician and Shop Techncian at our Dartmouth, NS Station.

The Shop Technician is responsible for assisting the Shop Foreman in the maintenance of safety equipment (Air trailers; SABA / SCBA breathing apparatus, gas detection, etc.) and the safety and maintenance of the facility and company property.


Shop Technician responsibilities and requirements:


  • Inventory equipment in and report any missing or damaged items
  • Clean, test and inspect equipment
  • Operate breathing air compressor safely & according to company policies and procedures
  • Load air trailer with equipment as per job requirements
  • Bump, calibrate and maintain gas detection equipment
  • Repair or replace equipment (ie. fittings, valves, etc.)
  • Assist other personnel as required
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management


A Confined Space Rescue Technician's main responsibility is to work as a team member during rescue situations and critical tasks.


Confined Space Rescue Technician's responsibilities and requirements:

  • Facilitate rescue in the event of an incident
  • Development and communication of sitespecific rescue plans
  • Inspect and maintain all rescue equipment on daily basis and complete all applicable documentation
  • Perform atmospheric testing, preentry and continuous
  • Ability to follow support hierarchy
  • Ability to work away from home for project duration
  • Extremely strong communication and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment, with a willingness to learn and grow with us
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test

Required qualifications:


  • Valid Confined Space Entry & Rescue training
  • Valid First Aid & CPR training
  • Driver's License and clean driver's abstract
  • Experience running breathing air systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attend work clean shaven
  • Physically fit and able to perform job tasks, ability to maintain professionalism in high pressure situations
  • Previous experience in a similar role
