Purpose


As a Hotel Coordinator you will be a member of the Rocky Mountaineer Hotel Services Team, which is part of the Operations Centre Planning Department.


The Hotel Coordinator processes guests' hotel accommodation in an accurate and timely manner, administers all hotel inventory, solicits non-block properties for rooms as required and builds hotel inventory & pricing in our reservation system.


Key Areas of Accountability

  • Effective daily administration of accommodation service requirements within a 24 hour period.
  • Run required Reservation System's reports 12 times per day in order to facilitate the process of administering hotel inventory.
  • Process last minute bookings, cancellations, or revisions within a 2hour period.
  • Procure additional space as required to confirm bookings.
  • Assist Product Operations team with releasing space in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary penalties.
  • Perform other duties including operational requirements assigned by the Operations Planning Management team.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in tourism industry. Preference will be given to those with experience in the Canadian Rockies and Pacific Northwest
  • Reservations systems knowledge

Skills

  • Attention to detail
  • Record of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to build rapport with business partners and the ability to lead by influence.
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Represents company positively, and demonstrates RM's trademark capability of going "beyond the call of duty"
