True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for an assistant retail manager to join our Jets Gear team.
The
Assistant Manager, Jets Gear St. Vital** assists the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the St.

Vital Jets Gear mall location with a particular focus on sales, customer service, store merchandising, and assisting in overseeing employees for the store.


What to be excited for in this role:
**_
Scheduling_**- Under the direction of the Store Manager, assist in scheduling staff.

  • Under the direction of the Store Manager, ensure a manager/assistant manager/keyholder are on site for daily operation.

_ Payroll_

  • Ensure all time sheets are completed by employees and are cross referenced to master time sheet.
  • Keep Store Manager informed of any procedure changes or issues.

_ Part-Time Employees_

  • Make recommendations and assist the Store Manager training of part time staff on policies and procedures including, but not limited to, customer service, sales and loss prevention.
  • Follow through with procedures and training to ensure that a consistent message is communicated to our staff.

_ Restocking/Merchandising_

  • Ensure that the store is well stocked with a variety of products for customers to choose from.
  • Assist the Store Manager to coordinate list for refilling of items and have staff restock from product kept in our downtown warehouse (35 times per week).
  • Make sure that the store always meets a high standard of cleanliness and organization. Ensure store is well merchandised at all times including sufficient levels of inventory.

_ Sales_

  • Assist parttime staff with any customer issues that may arise from product or service complaints to ensure that the customer issues are being heard and resolved in the best possible way.
  • Follow up promptly with any customer service issues.
  • Oversee any phonein orders that need to be held for pick up or sent via Canada Post/Courier.
  • Coordinate daily staff breaks/lunch based on slow periods.

_ Reporting_

  • Participate in annually and semiannually in inventory counts. Held on and prior to the June 30th fiscal year end.

_ Other_

  • Other duties as time allows and as assigned by management.

What we need from you:


  • Previous successful retail experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a solid understanding of customer service and desire to provide Superior Patron Experience.
  • Attention to detail and excellent personal organization skills to stay on task and effectively manage competing demands.
  • Proactive in anticipating problems and/or issues and providing superior customer service solutions.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and judgment to aid in relationships with peers and supervisors as required in this role.
  • Must be flexible with working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with customers as well as coworkers.
  • Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time.
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver's license and have own transportation
