Major Duties:


  • The Manager, Strategic Soucing is responsible for driving the supply chain solutions that will enable growth while optimizing the overall cost structure and increasing the overall gross margin for Industrial Automation globally.

Specific Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with Global Engineering to develop outsourced partners for automation and low cost engineering options
  • KPI blended contractor rate ($/hr) and impact on income statement
  • KPI cost level to outsource sub assemblies and automation cells < ATS cost
  • Maximize use of low cost regions and suppliers/partners to achieve optimal cost structure and quality.
  • Drive supply chain risk reduction by understanding supply chain gaps in Nuclear and EV areas and support supplier development and risk mitigation
  • Establish a long range supply chain planning process to address capacity gaps
  • Leverage the Global Supply Chain Team specialized knowledges in category management and VAVE to lower costs for Industrial Automation
  • Analyze our buy and recommend solutions to facilitate improved delivery, inventory plays, cost optimization, transaction reduction
  • Support engineering standardization initiatives
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications:


Education

  • A postsecondary diploma or degree in purchasing or equivalent. Engineering degree and completion of the PMAC is an asset.

Experience

  • A minimum of eight ten years of purchasing management and strategic sourcing experience in a global organization.

All managers are responsible for creating a positive safety culture and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

It is the responsibility of each manager to ensure that employees receive regular training regarding health, safety and environmental matters.

Each manager is also accountable to ensure that HSE matters are addressed in a timely manner and that compliance with both legislative and corporate requirements are maintained.


Manager responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:

  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance
  • Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process
  • Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained
  • Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements
  • Ensure that training is provided to all departmental employees are per established training matrix
  • Implement appropriate corrective measures for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
  • Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials and protective devices are provided and maintained in safe condition
  • Provide information, instruction and supervision to employees
  • Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees
