Position Overview


Reporting to the Administration Coordinator, the Business Services Associate is responsible for supporting human resources administration for part-time staff as well as payroll, financial and administrative processes for the Recreation, Community and Culture Department.


Responsibilities

The Business Services Associate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, distributing and entering hiring and job information for part time employees into the HRIS, including employment contracts, termination letters and qualifications.
  • Auditing, verifying and providing reports related to parttime staff payroll information.
  • Assisting in the training of new staff on department administrative procedures.
  • Preparing and distributing information/communications for part time employees.
  • Preparing accounts receivable reports for review in the department.
  • Assisting supervisors/coordinators with meeting agendas, minutes and other tasks.
  • Providing administrative support including purchase cards, time and attendance, joint venture and lease agreements.
  • Providing financial support to the department, including journal entries and invoicing.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or equivalent with computer, business and accounting skills. The successful applicant will have at least 2 years of general experience in a computerized office environment.

The Business Services Associate requires excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of Banner, AMANDA, SAP and PerfectMind would be considered an asset.

Working as part of a dynamic team, the incumbent will possess strong attention to detail as well as excellent customer service and organizational skills.

With a focus on process improvement, this position values creativity, innovation and flexibility.

This position may require occasional travel between sites and/or City facilities.
