Quality Assurance Inspector This role is for
Day and Afternoon shifts.


Your daily responsibilities will include:


  • Inspect product at all stages of manufacturing for conformance to customer requirements and GMG Instructions and indicate its status through the use of tags, records & charts as specified in the QS 9000 manual.
  • Verify that the correct quantity of raw materials or purchased parts or services are received at the specified time from a specified supplier and that any test reports are filed in an orderly manner. Ensure that the parts are properly identified by production operators at all stages of manufacture.
  • Conduct gauge studies on check fixtures and measuring equipment as required. Conduct process capability studies and other statistical analysis on characteristics of parts as required.
  • Instruct production operators in the proper use of gauges, check fixtures and visual standards for all processed that they run. Instruct process operators in the proper completion of charts and inspection records. Control inspection records generated by process operators.
  • Assist in the containment of defective product when required by Supervisor, including visitations to customer locations. Participation in the Corrective Action Process, including acting as champion.
  • Assist QA Manager in DMR process inclusive of Supplier contact, issuance of DMR, completion of Log and DMR proper. Reports outstanding product whereby disposition has not been provided by the Supplier of record.
  • Calibration System reviews Monthly Calibration List and assures required check Fx's, measuring tools are forwarded to Corporate Quality for calibration and tracks back to Lewis Rd. and returned to appropriate storage location.
  • Facilitate the In-Plant Discrepancy process with the QA Manager and Production Supervision.
  • Assist with Dock Audits, completion of Dock Audit forms, maintenance of Dock Audit Log and reports any findings.
  • Assist in establishing containment actions through customer complaints, internal issues, Engineering changes and new product launch (GP12).

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in a related field
  • Quality experience in a high pace automotive manufacturing environment
  • Able to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and geometric dimensioning tolerance
  • High level of organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience with using plug and ring gauges, dial and digital calipers, hardness testers, part specific checking fixtures and profile projectors an asset.
