About the role

Manager - Financial Operations


The team is a dynamic and multi-disciplinary who participates to several mandates such as accounts payable and controls, corporate credit cards management, cash spending monitoring, international business travel, and sustainable business travel development.

As part of the team, you will lead various tasks such as:

Analysis and reconciliations and accounting procedures

  • Deliver monthly reporting and various analyzes such as the evolution of expenses, of travel habits, of the greenhouse gases, etc.
  • Review reconciliations between the different IT systems for the GL accounts overseen by the team
  • Analyze and explain the results by types of expenses, by departments, etc.
  • Review accounting entries
  • Review data used for the global sustainability reports
  • Identify opportunities to reduce travel costs through various analyzes

Controls and audit

  • Ensure that the payments and processes handled in Accounts payable complies to robust controls and mitigate risks of fraud
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams

Continuous improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement of operational, financial, and internal control processes.
  • Lead improvements in dashboards (KPI)

What you'll put to good use:

  • CPA Accounting Designation
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in accounting and accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to learn quickly and agility
  • Strong analytical, synthesis and rigor skills
  • Leadership, team spirit, autonomy, and efficiency
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders.
  • Intermediate Excel level
  • Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry is an asset.
  • Bilingual: French and English, Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
