What will I be doing?


The
Food Stores Supervisor will report to the Director of Food & Beverage Purchasing and the Food Stores Manager and will provide accurate accountabilities for all goods being received and delivered.

The Supervisor must proactively communicate with other department Managers to ensure special requests are fulfilled.

The Team Member will be responsible for the distribution of all stock and goods to the appropriate area, as well as all other duties assigned by the Director or Manager.


  • Engage with suppliers and order necessary food products and/or items daily.
  • Complete department purchase orders.
  • Communicate with all department Managers, Chefs, and Sous Chef to ensure any food order requests are fulfilled.
  • Ensure all required products are ordered and arrive to the designated area in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper distribution, dating, and rotation of all goods by attendants.
  • Ensure team members within the department complete all daily tasks as trained.
  • Follow up on cleaning and maintenance of applicable storage areas.
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and the regulations.
  • Assist the Director of F&B Purchasing with other duties as required.

Experience

  • Lead hand/supervisory experience working in a similar shipping and receiving type position is an asset
  • Previous supervisory experience is mandatory
  • Knowledge of general food products, food safety, sourcing, and ordering.

Skills

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage and motivate a small team
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with adaptability to change

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach and stretch to complete all work functions.
  • Must be able to withstand changes in elements such as entering refrigerators/ freezers.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 23 kilograms.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 90 kilograms.

Requirements:


  • Must be available to work a variety of all shifts (weekdays, weekends, holidays)
  • Must be able to complete a Criminal Background Check to the hotel's satisfaction.

Salary:
$17.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3V9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:
