POSITION TYPE:
Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated June 3, 2024 up to March 31, 2025)


SALARY:
$50,557 - $69,084 per annum


POSITION LOCATION:
Exchange District Campus (Winnipeg, MB)


DUTIES

Reporting to the Chair, Culinary Arts and Baking, the Educational Assistant, Culinary Arts provides support to Instructors in the delivery of curriculum in both lab and classroom environments.

Responsibilities include assisting Instructors in the training, grading, and supervision of Culinary Arts student activities. The Educational Assistant will play an active role in the supervision student-run live labs. Administrative duties will include but not limited to recipe development, demonstrations, inventory management, product ordering, and student evaluations.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Supervisory experience in a culinary setting
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, products, and product development
  • Experience in product ordering and inventory management
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
  • Highlevel of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced team environment
  • Working knowledge of

Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Red Seal Certificate (Cook)
  • Positive experience and or connections and relationships with Manitoba's Indigenous Communities

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • Incumbent must hold a valid and current First Aid Certificate
