The Temerty Centre for Therapeutic Brain Intervention at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Data Manager to join its team.

The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager and join a productive team in one of the world's leading centres in treatment, research and training related to brain stimulation therapies.

In addition to clinical treatment trials, the team also specializes in neurophysiology studies aimed at providing novel insights into brain function in individuals with psychiatric disorders.


The Data Manager will oversee all aspect of data management including training, development of resources and standard operating procedures (SOPs), data compliance and reporting (e.g.

sponsor, DSMB, regulatory agencies), data extraction for analysis and publications and optimization of data management strategies. This role will require the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

_ Key Accountabilities_

  • Supervision of data management personnel including research staff and trainees.
  • Oversight of database development and testing for all research projects utilizing electronic data capture.
  • Management of internal and external requests for data and oversight of activities related to randomization, data cleaning, extraction and statistical analysis/visualization for reporting.
  • Ensuring adherence to institutional, regulatory and research standards as it relates to data management; and working with regulatory bodies allowing access to databases and providing reports as required by monitors and auditors.
  • Establishing data management plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), downtime procedures and resources for all personnel and collaborating teams.
  • Oversight of study/site initiation activities including database design, user acceptance testing, personnel training and user support including all collaborating sites.
  • Oversight of continuous improvement projects to data management processes including process automation and integration of new technologies and initiatives into data standards and structures.
  • Oversight of source data verification to ensure data integrity and support with knowledge translation activities (abstracts, publications, presentations).
  • Oversight of user training activities including preparation of training resources and manuals, maintenance of training records and documentations and timely communication of all issues and changes to impacted users.
  • Liaising with internal external stakeholders including CAMH Research Computing, local and international collaborating sites, service providers, CAMH Research Computing, sponsors and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications
**- Extensive data management experience including working with electronic data capture systems (REDCap, Medidata's Rave) and programming proficiency (Python, R, SQL, MATLAB, etc.)

  • Knowledge and experience with the regulatory landscape of research (Research Ethics, Health Canada and FDA regulations, DSMB requirements, etc.).
  • Previous experience in managing or mentoring staff or trainees.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse variety of stakeholders including interdisciplinary research teams, clinical programs, research administrative personnel, external collaborators and sponsors.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Highly detailoriented with demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and good judgment and effectively work independently while supporting a fastpaced, highfunctioning work environment and monitoring personal and teamlevel deliverables.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset.

This full-time, contract (12 months) position is NOT part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.
