Administrative Assistant/ Tutor Position - Hamilton, Canada - Oxford Learning

Oxford Learning programs impart new approaches to learning designed to last a lifetime. We teach children from pre-school to post-secondary levels how to learn, concentrate, listen, and remember. But most importantly, to believe in themselves.This hybrid position would require some administrative duties as well as teaching our students.
As a member of our team, you would participate in many aspects in the Hamilton centre's operations including teaching, office administration, and supporting our management team.
You will be trained in our system, methodologies, and approach.- Be personable, friendly, outgoing, creative, confident, and energetic
- Have the perfect blend of people skills and business savvy
- Be very assertive and be a team player
- Learn to administer our dynamic cognitive assessments
- Create individualized programs
- Meet regularly with parents to build professional relationships while discussing student progress
- Teach small groups of children
- Train and support our teaching staff on an ongoing basis
- Greet children and parents in a friendly and professional manner
- Meet regularly with local schools and organizations to build community awareness and promote the Oxford Learning programs
Some of your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Fulfilling day to day and monthly administrative tasks
- Administering cognitive and academic testing with new students
- Designing academic programs for students
- Evaluating student progress and growth
- Teaching small groups of students
- Creating a fun and energetic learning environment on a daily basis
- Making connections with parents and new clients

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Studies, or Psychology
- Relevant teaching experience and an excitement about learning
- Sales and management experience an asset
- A master in multitasking
- A natural leader and team motivator
- Demonstrated problemsolving ability, passion, initiative, motivation, and resourcefulness
- Excellent communication skills
- A good sense of humour
- The ability to make a kid's day
- The ability to take direction
- The drive and innovation to help the centre grow and increase sales
- Math skills preferably at a higher level
- Ability to teach English to a higher level
- Knowledge in written and oral French is an asset

Administrative Assistant/ Tutor Position requires a commitment of 15-25 hours a week. Starting wage is $18/hour. This position has the potential for more working hours and increased hourly pay.
