We are looking to hire a

Proposal Writer who will be a key member of our financial planning and analysis team. This role will join our SchoolMessenger line of business at West. SchoolMessenger is the most trusted platform for school community engagement, serving over half of the schools in the US and Canada. What You'll Do:


  • Research, develop and format proposals ensuring adherence to department policies and established deadlines.
  • Conduct research regarding the customer's requirements and specific location necessary to write assigned proposals (e.g., RFP, RFI, etc.) to determine scope, content, and purpose.
  • Develop and format proposals and responses according to proposal guidelines, striving for quality and accuracy.
  • Develop a proposal schedule and responsibility matrix for each RFP/RFI project.
  • Assemble, edit, rewrite, format and produce the final proposal for delivery.
  • Ensure proposals are completed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Distribute proposals to appropriate staff, ensuring adherence to established project timelines.
  • Coordinate proposal pricing with appropriate staff.
  • Develop and maintain response information materials for RFP's/RFI's to utilize as base text to complete future proposals, which may include content from the initial response and updates of current materials.
  • Assist in the creation, implementation and maintenance of department procedures.
  • Keep uptodate on specification language and documentation format ensuring adherence to department policies.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of the assigned business segment's technologies, clients and services in order to assist in the proposal process.

The applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications:


Education:


  • Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in English, Communication, Journalism, or a related field required.

Experience:


  • A minimum of two years of technical proposal writing or technical documentation experience is required preferably in telecommunications or hightechnology industries.
  • Minimum of two years of proposal writing experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Experience with proposal management and CRM software would be an asset.
  • Certification by APMP preferred.

Compensation:

  • The starting salary for this position is anticipated between
    $60,000 and $80,000 CAD per year and will be commensurate with experience.
