Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Temporary Full-Time:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (July and August)

Casual:
Variable schedule, on-call

BCGEU Membership is required for this position.

Job Summary
Supporting adults with developmental disabilities in a day program setting. Implementing recreational and educational activities and programs designed to meet the needs and goals of individuals. Activities may take place within the organization's facilities or in the community.

The Support Worker strives to create a supportive and safe atmosphere in order to encourage participants involvement in daily activities.

This position ensures opportunities for individuals to access valued outcomes, meaningful involvement and valued roles in the community.


Education Training and Experience

MUST HAVES
-
Special Needs Certificate, Community Support Worker Certificate, Human Service Worker Diploma and 6 months of relevant experience, _
or a combination equivalent education and experience._

  • Class 5 BC driver's license, _(permanent positions will be required to obtain a class 4 within 3 months of employment)._
  • Current Occupational First Aid level 1 with CPR
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate or equivalent.

Conditions of Employment

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
  • Satisfactory reference check.
  • Double Covid19 vaccination.
  • Physician's certificate of fitness for job duties.

Salary:
$20.43-$25.05 per hour
