The Academic Administrator [Focus:

LMS Administrator] is primarily responsible for the successful implementation and supervision of the Canvas Learning Management system, in addition to providing support in ensuring institution compliance standards, operational efficiency, student satisfaction, and enrollment retention.

Through the designated LMS system utilized by the Academic Department, the Academic Administrator verifies the effective integration of effective practices across the student life-cycle, from the onset of enrollment to alumni status.

The Academic Administrator assumes primary responsibility of being the first point of contact for students, instructors and Management regarding all queries and concerns posed with regards to the LMS, in addition to providing support in the implementation and operations regarding e-learning.

In addition to support with the LMS, the Academic Administrator will assist in day-to-day operational matters as required by the Academic Manager.

The Academic Administrator will report directly to the Academic Management and will advise of any concerns regarding students or campuses through presentation of reports and records at designated meetings.

The Academic Administrator is required to work closely with the Corporate Academic Coordinator in order to maintain breadth of knowledge required to engage in helping to implement on policies, procedures, and operations affecting student success in the LMS.


Duties and Responsibilities

LMS

  • Ensure that courses are imported correctly from the Student Information System (CL) onto Canvas.
  • Ensure that instructors and students are imported correctly from CL into the appropriate courses and sections in the LMS.
  • Provide support for instructors and students having issues with Canvas
  • Monitor the internal ticketing system for LMSrelated issues and address issues appropriately.
  • Assist in drafting communications and alerts within Canvas.
  • Responsible for maintaining security roles within Canvas.
  • Canvas system administration, training, maintenance, and it's supported integrations
  • Canvas Data support.
  • Academic system process support, improvement, and maintenance.
  • Be willing to take on additional administration duties for other integrated solutions.

Communication

  • Maintain regular contact at specific touchpoints and detailed notes on any student issues as noted on the dashboard of CL and Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Assess any needs of students and communicate with Campus Managers
  • Provide students with any necessary information regarding modules, programs, and industry standards
  • Conduct orientation for all new instructors, as assigned

Operations

  • Provide support to Academic Administrators for daily operations if required, under the direction of the Manager of Academic Operations and Development
  • Participate in providing feedback for the development, implementation and updating of program policies and procedures based on analysis of noted concerns within campuses
  • Proactively support atrisk students through provision of appropriate interventions that support both academic and personal needs

Compliance

  • Review student files to ensure compliance is maintained within programdefined requirements
  • Analyze academic progress to confirm if Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is maintained on LMS, including additional aspects such as completion of Surveys, Engagement in Social Forums, and access to resources
  • Advise Academic Management of trends regarding noncompliant files and practices in designated meetings through compilation of data
