Mecaer America Inc.

(MAI onwards), located in Laval, is an international provider of landing gear solutions for the helicopter business and aviation markets in general.

Safran Landing System, Collins Aerospace Systems (formerly UTAS and Goodrich) and Airbus Helicopters.

The incumbent acts as a Quality Assurance Specialist. He/she shall play key role in supporting First Article

Inspection (FAI) activities, internal & external audits (Transport Canada, AS9100, and customers), corrective actions (internal and external), risk management reviews, investigation of customer complaints etc.

The Quality Assurance Specialist shall review the manufacturing documents and, if required, shall also validate certification documentation (CofC; internal or suppliers) and relevant MRB dispositions (QNs / concessions).

He or she must participate in the compliance process (Conformity) associated with the qualification units of the new Mecaer design programs or the client's design programs.

As part of his duties, the Quality Assurance Specialist will handle aeronautical parts and may have to travel
(as per need) to subcontractors, suppliers, test laboratories, and/or to customers.


Key responsibilities

  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities that shall include but not limited to FAI planning, reviews & approval of FAI packages (internal + suppliers), source inspections at suppliers (as required).
  • Support internal & external audits (Transport Canada, AS9100, customers and suppliers) as required.
  • Review of internal & external (suppliers) manufacturing / assembly documents (Travelers / MPS /
APS).

  • Support internal and external corrective actions (customers and suppliers) as applicable.
  • Participate in process risk analysis activities (PFMEA / UPPAP).
  • Any other tasks given by management.

Skills

  • Meet the requirements of Federal Controlled Goods program (background surveys)
  • Experience in AS9100 standards (understanding of NADCAP is an asset)
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, technical specifications & test requirements, analyze complex assembly configurations and assess their compliance with the design configuration
  • General knowledge of materials used in aeronautics
  • Knowledge of aeronautical manufacturing, assembly and testing processes is essential
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of the usual special processes is required (Heat treatment, NDT, shot peening, electroplating, anodizing, thermal spray, paint, etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of computer systems, MS Office software, etc.
  • Excellent sense of communication, link between the customer and our suppliers
  • English and French spoken and written fluently
  • Good communication skills
  • Structure and organization in the workplace
  • Attention to detail and an excellent sense of observation
  • Experience in problem solving and continuous improvement

Education and experience:


  • DEC in aeronautical or mechanical or any combination of studies and experience deemed equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of Quality Assurance experience in the aerospace industry

Salary:
$64,500.00-$74,000.00 per year

Schedule:
