    Your Opportunity:

    Reporting to the Director of North Zone Area 6, the Site Manager is responsible for three key areas: Onsite Management of in-scope staff, Patient Flow Management, and Managing Emerging Issues. The primary focus is on ensuring the efficient utilization of resources, including both staff and bed allocation, while offering support to in-scope staff regarding patient or staff concerns. You'll also serve as the main point of contact in case of an emerging issue, providing immediate assessment and coordination. As a compassionate and experienced leader, you'll have full authority over all day-to-day operations of the site. As such, you will need to be able to work independently, communicate effectively and have strong problem-solving skills to mitigate issues as they arise. You will also need the expertise to drive the achievements and goals of the site, and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders. This position is at our new state-of-the-art High Prairie Health Complex which as an ER, 30 acute care beds, obstetrics and surgical programs, a 67 bed long-term care facility, lab, DI, pharmacy and Primary Care, Public Health, Indigenous Health, Addiction and Mental Health and Allied Health Services. Apply today In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

    Description:

    The Site Manager is a key leadership role in the North Zone Clinical Operations and reports directly to the Director, Clinical Operations. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization of site services within designated hospital(s) in the North Zone. This work will be accomplished through planning, delivery and evaluating health services within assigned hospitals, in support of the vision, mission, values and business plan of Alberta Health Services. Responsibilities will include making key decisions regarding the integration of various resources to ensure effective delivery of health services within hospital/site. This position is accountable for providing leadership in establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of Clinical Operations within the North Zone. The Site Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide leadership to Clinical Operations within the North Zone. The Site Manager is also responsible for implementation, operational management, and monitoring of integrated acute care services within the site. Within established policies, guidelines, and regulations, the Site Manager will assess, plan, direct and evaluate the operations and activities of the site, participating in the budget process and monitoring the financial position of the site through variance report analysis. They will participate in proactive and collaborative leadership discussions with the Director and other members of the area management team to support and ensure cohesive approaches and implementation of related services within the designated geographic area.

    In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including experience in a management role in health service operations. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience working with healthcare regulations and registration; Previous experience working with collective agreements; Experience with the Protection for Persons in Care Act (PPC Act); Experience working with North Zone Indigenous communities and experience in local Indigenous culture; Combination of education and experience may be considered.
