We are searching for a part-time, permanent Recreation Experience Representative at our community recreation centre.

They are the first point of contact for customers and residents of all ages in the recreation centre, and will play an integral role in ensuring that the needs, questions, and concerns of our recreation customers are met in an efficient and enthusiastic manner.

The anticipated weekly hours for this role is between 15-20 hours per week.

The main tasks a person can expect to perform in this role are:

  • Responding to inquiries and questions in accordance with the Accora Village customer service promise.
  • Completing daily tours for all incoming residents, records participation and attendance of activities, and completes weekly and daily checklists as required.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and wear the designated uniform while on duty.
  • Attending team meetings, training sessions and planning sessions as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Assisting in the maintenance and cleanliness of the recreation program spaces, equipment and supply storage areas.
  • Ensuring program equipment and facility are safe for use and reports known and potential hazards to the management for immediate action.
  • Enforcing safety rules and initiating emergency response procedures including first aid and incident reporting as required.
  • Receiving and responding to feedback from the customers and staff.
  • Interacting with program participants and facility members and guests
  • Creating an inviting environment by welcoming members and guests
  • Enforcing rules and responding to customer questions and feedback in a timely manner
  • Administering memberships payments, program registrations, and contracts.
  • Providing administrative support for resident communication, including but not limited to, the mailing out of information notices, surveys and feedback requests.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Postsecondary education in Recreation, Fitness and Health or other related field of study would be considered an asset
  • 12 years of previous customer service experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and diplomacy skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Must be available to work evening and weekend scheduling
  • Enthusiasm and passion for recreation & leisure with a focus on customer service
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving and ability to maintain a high level of leadership skills
  • Flexible and highly organized with superior conflict resolution skills
  • First Aid and CPR certification

  • Proven customer support experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Extended periods at a computer may be required at times.
  • The job description implies the performance of repetitive tasks.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Competing demands may create stress.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying office supplies or equipment may be required.
  • Different shifts will be required.
