Description
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Warehouse Team Leads, the Warehouse Associate picks and stages all supplies as outlined on the worksheets.
The Warehouse Associate assists with receiving and performs other duties such as general housekeeping, inventory checks and quality assurance checks, etc.
The work is performed according to set practices and procedure and is of a routine nature. Unusual problems are referred to the incumbent's supervisor.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Adherence to Calea's commitment to, and policy on "Patient Safety"
- Adherence to corporate, regulatory and individual responsibilities supporting Calea's Quality Management Program, supporting policies, procedures, work instructions, and software (QSi)
- Scans worksheets prior to picking and packing
- Picks and packs all ancillary items as outlined in the worksheet
- Labels all completed ancillary orders and forwards to shipping
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory checks
- Ensures that all pick locations are maintained to proper levels
- Assist with the picking and assembling of all homecare kits
- Assist in the receiving of inventory
- Assist with the cleaning of all biomed equipment
- Responsible for returning all cancelled, double picked and unsuccessful orders to stock
- Assist with the sorting and disposal of all customer returned orders
- Ensures warehouse complies with health and safety standards
- Record errors in the error log book
- Housekeeping duties
- Other duties as assigned
RELATIONS WITH OTHERS:
The Warehouse Associate interacts with the warehouse, customer service, pharmacy and purchasing department staff. No external contacts are required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Effort: 85% of the work is done while in a standing position.
Concurrently, 75% of this time is spent bending, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing and lifting objects up to 25 lbs, buddy system thereafter.
The physical environment is a clean, quiet warehouse area.Sensory Attention:
Operation of the tow motor requires extra attention than would normally be required. 10% of the work is performed on a microcomputer display terminal.
The job has a routine work pace with a normal degree of pressure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of personal computers an asset
