The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of
Domestic Logistics Manager. This job is full-time permanent.

Your challenges:


  • Establish strategic trucking and intermodal plans for Canadian and US pulp and paper mills
  • In collaboration with the Network and International Managers, establish strategic distribution plans for normal shipping conditions and contingency plans to deal with force majeure situations such as storms or strikes
  • Ensure that individual mill transportation plans comply with the global strategic plan
  • Determine and create strategies via crossfunctional team collaboration to increase efficiency
  • Lead projects in collaboration with Network and International Managers to improve mill logistics efficiencies and reduce supply chain costs
  • Lead or oversee truck bids done by your team members
  • Lead the vetting and onboarding of new truck and intermodal carrier
  • Main point of escalation for mills and carriers for issues
  • Collect, analyze, and distribute pertinent truck, intermodal and network information to internal groups such as sales, mills, customer service, planning, and logistics teams.
  • Complete a monthly review of shipments to track savings from projects implemented and to identify new opportunities
  • Support development of the team by identifying training requirements and opportunities
  • Establish and measure a plan to improve logistics KPIs (loadability, OTD, etc)
  • Establish and measure a plan to improve customer satisfaction (sales/AMR customer feedback, OTD KPIs, transit time monitoring, etc.)
  • Collaborate with technical support and mill operations to decrease damage
  • Ensure carrier compliance for reporting and insurance
  • Work with planning on production schedule management for the mill network to balance customer requirements and transportation capacity with mill production needs and order book requirements
  • Oversee customs clearance for US/Canadian cross border shipments including ensuring SLA is in
place with customs brokers and that Resolute is compliant with regulations and best practices such as CTPAT


Your team:


  • Reporting to the Director of Logistics, you will manage the Canadian and US mill distribution network in collaboration with the Network Manager and International Manager. You will work with a professional team focused on supporting a supply chain that is customer focused._

Your profile:


  • Bachelor of Commerce with a major in logistics, operations management, production management or finance;
  • 8 years of relevant experience with a large public manufacturing company.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, French is an asset
