- Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Supervisor ensures that the Warehouse operations are running smoothly and efficiently to achieve Warehouse goals
- Responsibilities:
- Promote a positive work environment and adopt a culture of continuous improvement in areas of Quality, Health & Safety, Productivity and the Environment.
- Supervise all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring compliance with all inventory management, productivity and quality programs.
- Responsible to manage the scheduling and planning of all Shipping and Receiving activities on a daily basis.
- Assign employee duties as required to gain optimum efficiencies.
- Responsible to ensure the Edmonton Milk Plant stores and ships products that meet customer and consumer expectations regarding food quality, safety and security.
- Responsible to ensure all Company quality programs are followed by all workers
- Implement continuous improvement projects.
- Coordinate with the other Production and Warehouse Supervisors to manage all vacation schedules and schedule stat days off.
- Responsible to ensure all food safety issues are reported immediately to the Quality Control Manager.
- Responsible for all Health & Safety programs in the Plant and investigation of concerns and recommendations/improvements.
- Attend H&S Committee meetings when required.
- Determine safe operating procedures.
- Complete accident investigation report.
- Investigate performance, noncompliance and violations of policy and procedures.
- Approve hourly employee's time and deal with variances (overtime, late, etc.).
- Review overtime and report reasons for overtime to Warehouse Manager.
- Daily communication with staff.
- Participate in the recruitment process for new personnel including interviews.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in administration or a diploma of collegiate studies in logistics and distribution
- Must have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role
- Experience in team management, in a unionized environment ( an asset)
- Knowledge of industry best practices
- Ability to identify and act on opportunities for improvement
- Ability to mentor and influence people
- Demonstrated computer literacy ( Oracle, MS OFFICE)
