SUMMARY


Reporting to the Managing Director of Development, Manager, Development — Fraser Valley Region is responsible and accountable for the management of both philanthropic and corporate and community engagement and strategy in the Fraser Valley Region.

The Manager supports the Development team in achieving revenue targets through the cultivation, solicitation, development, activation and stewardship of corporate and community partnerships in the Fraser Valley Region.

These partnerships are focused on providing operating funding for Canuck Place Children's Hospice (CPCH) through individual major gifts, family foundations, corporate charitable giving, event sponsorship, employee giving/volunteer programs, cause marketing and the provision of gifts-in-kind.


The incumbent works closely with the Development and Communications, Marketing & Events and Dave Lede House (DLH) Leadership teams as well as other CPCH teams to gather information on current CPCH priorities and opportunities for engagement with individual and corporate donors and sponsors.


A key member of the CPCH Development Team, the Manager will have responsibility for a portfolio of major (individual) gift donors in the Fraser Valley Region and ensures assigned annual targets and organizational expectations are met.


Key to this portfolio's goals will be the expansion of Philanthropic giving to Canuck Place in the Fraser Valley region and in regions throughout BC.

This role will be tasked to increase the profile of Canuck Place provincially and solicit donors and expand increase revenue from these regions.


The role also includes responsibility in managing, coaching and mentoring three (3) Development staff with respect to fundraising, donor relationships and meeting targets.

This position will be based out of Dave Lede House — Canuck Place in Abbotsford. Travel throughout the Lower Mainland is required on a regular basis and within the Province as required.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising

  • Collaborates with the Managing Director of Development to identify, recruit and nurture corporate and community partners in the Fraser Valley and Interior and Northern BC regions, focusing on securing sustainable, valuable corporate partnerships for multiyear periods.
  • Conducts research and identification of new individual, foundation, and corporate and community prospects with a view to engaging new donors in existing or new initiatives.
  • Leads, executes and manages corporate and major gift fundraising campaigns, programs and initiatives aimed at engaging and involving individual, corporate and foundation donors with the goal of moving them toward significant gifts.
  • Works with the Director, Volunteer and Support Services and the Manager, Facilities and others regarding giftsinkind and/or other donations that benefit Canuck Place Children's Hospice.
